Artur Nunes da Silva, General Manager of TotalEnergies Suriname, made this statement on the second day of the Suriname Energy, Oil and Gas Summit, according to OilNOW.

According to the current schedule, theproject—which is being carried out by TotalEnergies in collaboration with partners APA Corporation and Staatsolie—is expected to have a production period of approximately 20 to 25 years. Nunes da Silva noted, however, that the project is designed to support production for several decades and may remain in operation longer than currently anticipated.

According to the CEO, the production phase will not only generate revenue for Suriname but also ensure sustained economic activity after the construction phase is completed. “It’s about the revenue—I think that’s clear to everyone—but it’s also about the ongoing activity that will be developed, the people who will have jobs, and the people who will be involved in this,” said Nunes da Silva.

He did not rule out the possibility that the project’s lifespan could be extended at a later date. “In 30 years, maybe not—I don’t know… we might be able to get an extension and continue production for even more years,” he said. “I’m convinced there’s potential for that.”

The GranMorgu development is based on the Krabdagu and Sapakara oil discoveries in Block 58. The project includes 32 wells and a production vessel. According to Nunes da Silva, drilling operations will continue even after initial oil production begins in order to maintain production levels.

“When we reach first oil, we’re actually only at 80 percent of the project’s progress, because we’ll continue drilling after first oil,” he said.

According to the TotalEnergies CEO, GranMorgu’s greatest impact on Suriname will be felt primarily during the long production phase. This phase is expected to generate revenue, create jobs, and sustain economic activity. He said the partners intend to continue working together to maximize the value of the project.

TotalEnergies reports that the GranMorgu project in Suriname may be able to produce for longer than the planned 20–25 years, yielding long-term economic benefits and job opportunities.

[16333
18599,18600,18601,18602
post-177012","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-general","tag-block-58","tag-granmorgu-project","tag-suriname-energy-oil-and-gas-summit","tag-totalenergies-suriname
["GET
