The visit is taking place at the invitation of President Jennifer Simons and is aimed at further strengthening bilateral cooperation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span class=\"dropcap \" style=\"background-color: #ffffff; color: #000000; border-color: #ffffff;\">S<\/span>uriname and Venezuela have now maintained diplomatic relations for fifty years. According to the Surinamese government, this anniversary provides an opportunity to reaffirm the ties between the two countries, deepen existing partnerships and explore new opportunities for cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>During the visit, both heads of state and their delegations will hold consultations on cooperation in various policy areas. These include agriculture, fisheries, hydrocarbons, connectivity, tourism, education and capacity building.<\/p>\n<h2>Economic and technical cooperation<\/h2>\n<p>Opportunities to further expand economic and technical cooperation between Suriname and Venezuela will also be discussed. This cooperation is intended to contribute to the development and well-being of both countries and their populations.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the heads of state will exchange views on shared interests within regional and multilateral organisations.
