The moped rider was injured in the accident.<\/p>\n<p>The collision occurred on the Indira Gandhiweg, near the Bijlhoutweg. According to the preliminary police investigation, the 45-year-old moped rider E.P. was travelling along the Indira Gandhiweg, while the passenger car approached him from the opposite direction.<\/p>\n<p>Near the Bijlhoutweg, the Toyota Vitz, for reasons still unknown, ended up in the moped rider&#8217;s lane. The moped rider was struck by the car&#8217;s right-side mirror.<\/p>\n<p>The moped rider sustained injuries. Both vehicles were damaged in the collision.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the car, J.A. (22), drove on after the accident without leaving his personal details and the vehicle&#8217;s details. Shortly afterwards, police from Lelydorp managed to arrest him near the Welgedacht C-weg.<\/p>\n<p>A check showed that the motorist did not possess a valid driver&#8217;s licence.
