According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Cooperation, the measure is linked to recent migration developments from both countries.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry announced the change on Tuesday, September 29. Travellers of Mexican or Bolivian nationality who fall under the measure must apply for and obtain a visa before departing for Suriname.<\/p>\n<p>Holders of a valid diplomatic passport or service passport are exempt. The reintroduced visa requirement applies exclusively to national passports.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement does not further explain which migration developments prompted the decision. The ministry also does not state an end date for the temporary measure.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry, together with the relevant authorities, will monitor developments and periodically evaluate the visa requirement.
