Nine PET bottles containing mercury were found in their vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>According to police, the bottles were concealed in two white rice sacks beneath the seats of the driver and the passenger. The individuals involved are driver M.A. and passenger M.V.<\/p>\n<p>The pair are suspected of violating the Wet Tegengaan Smokkelen (Anti-Smuggling Act) and the Wet Economische Delicten (Economic Offences Act). Both were arrested to be brought before an assistant public prosecutor.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects and the seized mercury were handed over to the Fraude department, which is conducting the further investigation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two men were arrested at Stolkertsijver with nine plastic bottles of mercury hidden under their seats.
