A single-storey house on Peprepinweg in Wanica was fully engulfed in flames in the early morning when police arrived at the scene. Neighbours discovered the fire. At that time, no one was present in the house.
Police from the Santo Boma station received the report at around 3 a.m. and went to the address. The fire service that was called in carried out firefighting and overhaul operations.
It concerns a stone house that was connected to the electricity grid and water supply. The house was insured against fire.
The cause of the fire is not yet known. Santo Boma police and the fire service are investigating how the fire started and under what circumstances it occurred.
