The Narcotics Brigade seized suspected drugs during checks at three locations in Paramaribo and surrounding areas on Friday, September 25. According to police, the packages had been left unattended.
The checks took place on Crommelinstraat, near the former Golden Wings building in Lelydorp, and on Martin Luther Kingweg near Post 1. Police targeted locations where drugs are suspected to be traded.
A total of 103 packages of suspected sukru, with a combined weight of 26 grams, and 38 packages of suspected cocaine, weighing a total of 27 grams, were found. The brigade also seized 34 packages of marijuana (21.32 grams), 23 packages of xtc powder (18 grams) and 19 packages of hashish (43.57 grams).
In addition, police found 19 ziplock bags containing suspected xtc pills and three tubes containing a substance referred to as ‘Pikachu’. No weight was stated for these findings.
The Narcotics Brigade says it will continue its checks at locations where drugs are suspected to be traded.
