The Traffic Unit of Region West seized several mopeds for re-inspection during the night from Monday, October 5, to Tuesday, October 6. During patrols, police observed several traffic violations and modifications to the vehicles.
The moped riders were stopped, after which police found, among other things, modified engines, carburettors and exhaust pipes. Official reports were issued against the drivers involved. Police also seized the modified parts found.
Police said they will continue to act against road users who violate traffic regulations. Moped riders are urged not to modify their vehicles in ways that contravene legal regulations or endanger road safety.
