The Suriname Competitiveness and Sector Diversification Project (SCSD) launched a new website on Thursday, 1 October. The platform is intended to make information on the project’s objectives, activities and progress more accessible to stakeholders and other interested parties.
The launch took place in the presence of Minister David Abiamofo of Natural Resources, SCSD project coordinator Clyde Griffith and Simon Noerdjan, director of Bitdynamics. The company was involved in developing the website.
Visitors can access news, publications, documents and information on the various project activities through the platform. They can also share experiences via a contact form.
SCSD focuses, among other things, on strengthening governance, transparency and administration within the mining sector. The project supports the further development of the institutional and legal framework for the sector, including the process concerning the Delfstoffenautoriteit Suriname (DAS).
In addition, SCSD supports businesses and value chains in sectors with growth potential, such as agribusiness and tourism. Through this, the project aims to contribute to stronger competitiveness and a broader economic base for Suriname.
According to Abiamofo, the website should improve communication about the project. “Good information is an important foundation for cooperation and involvement,” the minister said. He said stakeholders should be better able to follow through the platform what SCSD is doing and what developments are taking place.
The website will be further supplemented in the coming period with news, documents and information on activities. The platform can be accessed via tx.bitdynamics.sr/scsd.
