The police at Stolkertsijver station arrested two men on Friday morning, 16 October 2026, on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Act. During a routine traffic check, fourteen packages of marijuana were found in a vehicle that was reportedly on its way to Albina.

The suspects, F.E. and K.A., were driving in two separate vehicles, a black Toyota Foxy and a white Toyota Noah. During the inspection of the Toyota Foxy, police officers discovered a cardboard box on the back seat that was wrapped in a black bag. The box was found to contain fourteen packages of marijuana, each separately wrapped in brown tape.

During the investigation, F.E. told police that he had received the box shortly beforehand from the driver of the white Toyota Noah. According to his statement, he had been instructed to transport the box containing the drugs in the direction of Albina.

Following F.E.’s indication, the driver of the Toyota Noah was also ordered to stop. The driver complied with the stop signal, after which he too was arrested. Both suspects, along with the seized drugs, were handed over to the Narcotics Department of the Korps Politie Suriname.

The Narcotics Department is handling the further investigation into the origin and destination of the drugs. Nothing is yet known about the total weight of the marijuana found.
