Students, parents and teachers must use mobile phones, social media and artificial intelligence applications more consciously. That is the appeal made by the Minister of Education, Science and Culture on the eve of the new 2026-2027 school year.
According to the minister, modern technology has become indispensable in society and education. Artificial intelligence, digital learning tools and modern means of communication offer major opportunities to improve education and support students’ personal development, he said.
At the same time, he warned of the risks of irresponsible use.
“The same technology can also have negative consequences when it is used irresponsibly,” the minister stated.
He therefore calls on schools, parents and students to use technology primarily as a tool to increase knowledge, stimulate creativity and further develop talents.
The minister also pointed to the intensive use of social media and mobile phones among young people. According to him, prolonged screen time and constant digital stimuli can affect children’s well-being.
The minister therefore believes that technological development within education must go hand in hand with responsible use. The rise of artificial intelligence makes it all the more important, he said, for students to learn how digital tools can be used consciously and meaningfully.
For the 2026-2027 school year, accessible education remains one of the ministry’s central principles. According to the minister, every student, regardless of background, place of residence or financial situation, must be given the opportunity to develop.
