Photos of three men are currently circulating on social media who, according to various reports, are said to have been arrested by the police in connection with the violent robbery on Friday, November 6, 2026, at Wilhelminastraat, corner of David Simonsstraat, in which a man of Chinese descent was killed. However, police have so far announced the arrest of only one suspect.
The photos are being shared on various social media platforms with the claim that the three men pictured have now been apprehended by police. However, there is no official confirmation that all three individuals have actually been arrested or were involved in the robbery.
Police spokesperson Michel Elskamp stresses that the public should continue to follow the official communication channels of the Korps Politie Suriname (Suriname Police Force) for reliable information about the investigation.

According to the police information provided so far, one suspect has been arrested. In addition, other possible suspects have been identified as part of the ongoing investigation. Whether the individuals in the circulated photos match the suspects police have in view has not been confirmed.
The violent robbery took place on Friday morning at around 9:30 a.m. Three masked and armed men allegedly robbed the occupants of a white Toyota Prado. Shots were fired during the robbery, fatally striking one of the victims. The perpetrators then fled in a white Toyota Vitz.
Key News stresses that sharing photos of individuals as alleged suspects without official confirmation may lead to unjustified accusations. As long as the involvement of the persons pictured has not been established, it cannot be concluded that they were actually involved in the crime.
The police investigation is still ongoing. The public is urged to follow official police reports and to handle unconfirmed information on social media with caution.
