Sérgio Rodrigues has decided to end his spell at SV Broki. The coach announced via his Facebook page that he is leaving the club on his own initiative. He looks back with pride on his work and the successes achieved, including winning a title.
Rodrigues says he is looking ahead to his departure with his head held high. According to the coach, he has fulfilled his task at the club and the time has come to rest and regain energy.
“Today, on my own initiative, I am closing my spell at SV Broki, with my head held high and the feeling that I have fulfilled my task,” Rodrigues writes on Facebook.
The coach expressed his appreciation for the players he worked with. According to him, every player made an important contribution to the club’s successes. He also thanked the board for its trust, support and cooperation during his spell at SV Broki.
Proud of title won
Rodrigues emphasised that the title won and the collective achievements will hold a lasting place in SV Broki’s history.
“The title won and the legacy we have built together will forever be part of the club’s history. No one can take away what we have achieved together!” the coach said.
Although he is saying goodbye, his statement contains no disappointment. Rodrigues instead speaks of gratitude and pride in what he has achieved together with the players and the board.
New club to be announced soon
His departure from SV Broki does not mean Rodrigues is definitively leaving football. The coach announced that he will soon present his new club.
“Soon I will announce my new club. I will come back stronger!” he writes.
For the time being, Rodrigues has not disclosed which club he will continue his coaching career with. It is also unclear when he will officially start work at his new club.
His departure marks the end of a period in which Rodrigues says he successfully completed his assignment at SV Broki. His next step in Surinamese football remains unknown for now.
