The police of Paradise station conducted a raid on Wednesday, September 23, at a property on Pisang-Kapokweg in Nickerie. Local residents had repeatedly complained about suspected drug-related nuisance at the address. During the operation, police seized a quantity of suspected cocaine.
At the property, officers found 48-year-old S.M., nicknamed ‘Boyke’, and 46-year-old K.S. According to police, S.M. attempted to hand a plastic bag to K.S. upon seeing the officers. The bag contained a substance resembling cocaine. It was seized for examination.
Both individuals were arrested. Following consultation with the Openbaar Ministerie (Public Prosecution Service), S.M. was remanded in custody. K.S. was allowed to go home after questioning. Police are continuing their investigation.
