politie prison schets woman Two women were arrested in Tamanredjo on suspicion of drug trafficking after a raid found crack cocaine and packaging materials. Buyers were released after questioning.
A mixed police unit arrested four people on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, during a drug raid at an address in the Tamanredjo ressort. Two women, aged 21 and 25, have been remanded in custody on suspicion of violating the Narcotic Drugs Act. Two other suspects, who allegedly bought drugs at the address, were released after questioning.

Police acted after receiving information about a suspected drug-selling location where crack cocaine was allegedly being actively traded. After working out this information, it was decided to carry out a raid.

During the police operation, two people were found who, according to police, had come to the address to buy drugs. Two female residents were also present, who are suspected of selling drugs at the location.

Crack cocaine was found on the two suspected buyers, identified as A.R. and S.E., which they allegedly purchased shortly beforehand. During a search of the home, police also found a quantity of crack cocaine, packaging material and an amount of money in Surinamese dollars. The four individuals involved were arrested and taken to the police station.

Suspects make statements

During questioning, A.R. and S.E. separately stated that they had bought the drugs found from 21-year-old M.S. and 25-year-old N.C.

M.S. denied knowing about the drugs found in her home. According to her, the narcotics belonged to her friend N.C. The latter told police that the drugs were indeed hers and that she sold them at the address.

Further police investigation has shown that both women had previously come into contact with police for violating the Narcotic Drugs Act. They were arrested and detained at the time. During that earlier arrest, M.S. was placed in the Opa Doelie youth care centre because she was underage.

Two women remanded in custody

After being brought before an assistant public prosecutor and consultation with the Public Prosecution Service, A.R. and S.E. were released after questioning.

M.S. and N.C. were remanded in custody on suspicion of violating the Narcotic Drugs Act. Police at Richelieu station are continuing the investigation.
