802653113 1069846515829450 5058312870348773031 n The BBS promotes 233 security officers, including Chiqueta Pansa as the first female inspector, during a ceremony with Minister Monorath, who emphasised the importance of responsibility.

The Beveiligings- en Bijstandsdienst (BBS) promoted 233 security officers to a higher rank on Thursday, September 10. The promotions took place during a ceremony at De Witte Lotus.

A special moment during the ceremony was the promotion of Chiqueta Pansa to inspector. According to the BBS, she is the first female inspector within the service and also has the highest seniority in this rank.

Officers and non-commissioned officers who successfully completed the 2025 cadre training also received their diplomas during the ceremony. The documents were presented by Minister Harish Monorath of Justice and Security.

Minister points to greater responsibility

In his speech, Monorath emphasised the importance of discipline, integrity and professionalism within the BBS. According to the minister, a higher rank not only brings new powers, but also greater responsibility towards the organisation and society.

Following the speeches, the new epaulettes were pinned on the promoted officers. This was done, among others, by Minister Monorath, director of Operational Services Bieswadath Somai, chairman of the Interim Management Team Guillaume Coulor and the attending corps chiefs.

Family members were also given the opportunity to pin the new rank insignia on their relatives.
