A considerable sum of money was stolen during a burglary at a temporary accommodation on the construction site of the new headquarters of the Korps Politie Suriname (KPS, Suriname Police Force). The incident took place near the intersection of J.A. Pengelstraat and Verlengde Gemenelandsweg.
The victim is a worker of Chinese nationality who is temporarily staying at the site. Various sums of money in foreign and local currencies were taken during the burglary.
According to the report, the stolen items consist of 2,500 dollars, 600 euros and SRD 10,000. The available information does not indicate whether the amount of 2,500 dollars refers to US dollars.
