Surinamese international Yannick Leliendal is leaving FC Volendam after two seasons. The wing-back has signed for Hapoel Tel Aviv, which finished fourth in Israel’s top division last season.

Following FC Volendam’s relegation from the Eredivisie last spring, Leliendal had already indicated that he wanted to leave the club. This led to a conflict with the club management at the start of the new season. The left-back was no longer allowed to train with Erwin van de Looi’s squad and maintained his fitness by running laps on the back field of RKAV Volendam’s amateur side.

Now that the Surinamese international has secured his transfer shortly before the transfer window closes, that situation has come to an end. It has not been disclosed how high the transfer fee for Leliendal is that will be transferred from Israel to Volendam. The footballer extended his contract with the club until the summer of 2028 only last November.

Yannick Leliendal joined Volendam from FC Utrecht in 2024, where he quickly secured a place in the starting line-up. He won the first division title with the club in 2025 and played a total of 76 matches for the club.
