Police from the Leiding 9A station arrested 51-year-old M.A. on suspicion of stealing clothing items from two different addresses in the Leiding ressort, Wanica district. The suspect told police that he took the clothing items to sexually satisfy himself.
The case came to light after police received two separate reports of theft. An investigation was launched as a result, leading to M.A.’s arrest.
At the time of his arrest, the suspect handed a dark blue dress, a white blouse and two grey boxer shorts to police. During questioning, he stated that he had stolen the clothing items to smell them and in that way find sexual satisfaction. He would throw the clothing items away after use.
According to his statement, he has displayed this behaviour since his wife left him about a year ago.
One of the stolen clothing items, the dark blue dress, has since been identified by its rightful owner and returned to her.
The 51-year-old suspect has been remanded in custody in the interest of the investigation. Police from the Leiding 9A station are continuing the investigation.
