Police from Houttuin police station received a report of the incident at around 12.41 p.m. According to the initial information, the man had taken his daughter against her will in a green Toyota Vitz. He allegedly threatened the girl with death.
Following the report, a general alert was issued to police units on the street to look out for the vehicle.
About fifty minutes later, at around 1.31 p.m., the car was spotted on Meursweg by officers from Rijsdijk police station. During a check, the officers found both the father and the 5-year-old girl in the vehicle.
It is not yet known what prompted the incident or whether the father was arrested. Police have also not yet provided further information about the child’s condition. The police are continuing their investigation. Further details will be announced at a later time.
