SAIL and seafood company Deep Sea Atlantic will further expand their strategic cooperation. The companies want to process more fish, increase production volume and strengthen SAIL’s revenue. The cooperation has existed since 2020 and is now being further developed.
The expansion of the strategic partnership between SAIL and Deep Sea Atlantic is intended to contribute to better use of the existing processing facilities and a stronger financial position for SAIL. This is evident from a press release issued by the company on Monday, October 12, 2026.
The agreement for further cooperation was signed by SAIL director Ifuel Alberg and Rakesh Mohan on behalf of Deep Sea Atlantic. Both companies want to build on the cooperation they entered into in 2020 and develop new opportunities within Suriname’s fisheries sector.
According to SAIL, the focus is on increasing production volume, expanding processing activities and improving earning capacity. The company aims to create a stronger financial foundation and further develop its existing business operations.
SAIL and Deep Sea Atlantic focus on higher production
An important part of the strategic partnership is the optimal use of the available processing capacity. According to the company, SAIL has the facilities and expertise to process fish products in accordance with the applicable international quality standards.
By processing larger quantities of fish, SAIL wants to make more intensive use of the available infrastructure. The company expects that an expansion of activities can contribute to higher revenue and improved financial results.
Redsnapper forms part of cooperation
The processing of redsnapper also plays a role within the partnership. This fish species forms part of the activities that SAIL and Deep Sea Atlantic jointly want to further develop.
The so-called Redsnapper operation is specifically mentioned in the press release as part of the cooperation. No concrete figures have yet been disclosed regarding the scale of these activities, the targeted production volumes and any new investments.
SAIL wants to turn larger production volumes into higher revenue and a stronger financial position.
Strengthening SAIL’s financial position
According to SAIL, the expansion fits within its policy of increasing its own revenue and further expanding its operations. Higher production volumes and efficient processing should ultimately lead to better financial results.
The company stresses that not only the expansion of activities is important, but above all the extent to which this growth actually generates more revenue. The existing infrastructure and technical expertise must be used as effectively as possible for this purpose.
Deep Sea Atlantic will continue to act as a strategic partner within these plans. By deepening the existing cooperation, both companies want to develop more joint activities and expand their opportunities within the seafood sector.
More opportunities for Suriname’s fisheries sector
The further cooperation is taking place within a sector in which processing, product quality and access to sales markets are important factors. For companies that process fish products, it is important that production meets the requirements of the markets for which the products are intended.
SAIL states that its processing activities comply with the applicable international quality regulations. This quality assurance must form an important basis for the further development of the partnership with Deep Sea Atlantic.
The available processing capacity also plays a role. When companies can make better use of existing installations, this can create opportunities to process more products without having to build all activities from the ground up.
Concrete financial results not yet known
Although SAIL speaks of a further expansion of the cooperation, it has not been disclosed how much additional production the companies intend to achieve. No amounts have been mentioned for the expected increase in revenue or the financial scale of the agreement.
It is also unclear whether the expansion will lead to additional jobs or new investments in the processing facilities. These aspects may be important in assessing the economic significance of the partnership for Suriname’s fisheries sector.
The companies do express the ambition to grow the cooperation sustainably. According to SAIL, the further development of activities should ultimately contribute to stronger operations and a better financial position.
Further expansion of existing partnership
With the signing, SAIL and Deep Sea Atlantic are opting to further deepen their existing business relationship. The focus is on processing, volume growth and improving financial returns.
According to the companies, the cooperation should not only strengthen their joint business activities, but also create opportunities for further development within Suriname’s seafood sector.
For the time being, SAIL has not announced a timetable within which the intended production growth must be achieved. The coming period will have to show what concrete results the expansion of the partnership produces and to what extent the objectives for higher revenue are achieved.
