Minister of Finance and Planning Adelien Wijnerman received the French ambassador to Suriname, Benoit Denise, for a courtesy visit. During the meeting at the ministry on S.M. Jamaludinstraat, they discussed cooperation between the two countries.
Forestry, water projects and national development issues were discussed. According to the ministry, the meeting also provided an opportunity to explore possibilities for further cooperation. No details were disclosed about any concrete agreements.
Also taking part in the discussion on behalf of the ministry were Ashokkumar Ramautar, Inspector of Direct Taxes, Charlene Soentik, Director-General of the Bureau for the State Debt, and Iris Sandel, Director of Planning and Development Financing.
