Two suspects were arrested during police operations on Thursday, 8 October, at Bloemkoolstraat and at Golly Yard on Drambrandersgracht. The Narcotics Brigade carried out the operations on the basis of intelligence, with support from the Arrestatie Team (AT). Drugs, a firearm, ammunition and money were seized.
At Bloemkoolstraat, 23-year-old A.M. was arrested. According to police, he ran away upon seeing the officers and threw away 17 wraps containing suspected cocaine. The contents had a total weight of 7.86 grams. In the area where he had previously been, officers found two precision scales, 2.92 grams of hashish, an AK cartridge and three shotgun cartridges.
At Golly Yard, police arrested 24-year-old W.R. Two packages containing 19 and 42 grams of marijuana respectively, two precision scales and sums of money in euros and Surinamese dollars were found on him.
At the location where W.R. was found, police also discovered a .38 Special revolver with five live rounds, 474 grams of marijuana and 56 grams of hashish. In the immediate vicinity of Golly Yard, officers also found unattended 352 grams of marijuana, 56 grams of hashish and a sum of money in Surinamese dollars. All items found were seized.
Both suspects were remanded in custody after consultation with the Public Prosecution Service. The investigation is continuing.
