Juvenile Affairs police have arrested 14-year-old R.M. and 19-year-old P.S. in connection with the theft of a large sum of money and gold jewellery. The minor’s mother filed a report against her son, saying she had grown tired of his behaviour.
According to the mother, the boy stole money and gold jewellery from her and his grandmother on several occasions since January 2026. The jewellery was said to hold emotional value.
Preliminary police investigations show that the 14-year-old was interested in a racing moped that P.S. was allegedly to sell him. The two allegedly made arrangements via WhatsApp regarding what the minor had to give up in exchange for the moped.
The boy subsequently brought the stolen jewellery to P.S. The 19-year-old allegedly sold the jewellery and spent the proceeds on his own car.
Both suspects were brought before the authorities and remanded in custody after consultation with the Public Prosecution Service. The investigation is continuing by Juvenile Affairs police.
