Leiding 9A police arrested 45-year-old D.R. on suspicion of seriously assaulting his wife. The man allegedly struck the woman several times with a belt while she was asleep.
The victim, S.S.K., filed a report on Saturday, September 5. Preliminary police investigations indicate that the woman had earlier danced with an unknown man in a bar or café and accepted alcohol from him.
According to police, her husband became angry about this. The situation escalated after the woman refused to give him the man’s name.
Later, while the woman was asleep, D.R. allegedly struck her several times across her body with a belt. She woke up startled, screamed in pain and ran out of the room.
The victim sustained bruises on various parts of her body as a result of the assault. D.R. was arrested and remanded in custody in the interest of the investigation.
