The residents were not at home at the time of the burglary. Upon returning, they discovered that unknown persons had gained access to their home by forcing entry and had taken various valuable items.
The stolen items include a Stevens-brand hunting rifle, two HP laptops, three gold rings, a gold bracelet and a Samsung Galaxy Tab.
During the on-site investigation, police found footprints. An iron bar was also seized, which was presumably used by the burglars to gain entry to the home.
Police are calling on persons with information about the burglary or the possible perpetrators to come forward. Witnesses can contact Santodorp police station by telephone at 485240 or the Command Center at 115. The investigation into the residential burglary is ongoing.
