One person was killed in a traffic accident on the Afobakaweg on Monday morning, 31 August. A second victim was injured and taken to hospital.
The accident occurred near mast 29 at Paranam. The victim died at the scene from the injuries sustained.
The other person involved was taken by ambulance to the Emergency Department of the Academic Hospital Paramaribo for medical treatment. Nothing is yet known about this person’s condition.
It is also not yet clear what caused the accident. Further information will follow.
