The Moengo police arrested teenager D.R. on Sunday, August 30, following a fight in which P.V. sustained fatal injuries. The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim in the abdomen with a knife during the confrontation.
Police received a report from a woman that a fight was taking place in front of her driveway. Upon arrival, officers found the victim lying bleeding by the roadside.
According to the preliminary police investigation, a fight broke out between D.R. and P.V. The suspect allegedly threatened the victim and then pulled a knife. After the woman said she would call the police, bystanders managed to separate the two.
The woman then tried to calm D.R. down and take the knife from him, but was unsuccessful. At one point, P.V. ran towards the suspect, after which D.R. allegedly wounded him in the abdominal area with the knife. The victim was taken to the RGD clinic in Moengo for medical treatment, but died from his injuries.
Bystanders restrained the suspect and handed him over to police. Following his arraignment, D.R. was remanded in custody.
Moengo police are continuing their investigation into the case.
