The work stoppage by cabin crew of the Surinaamse Luchtvaart Maatschappij (SLM) has been suspended following consultations. The airline reported this in a communiqué on Friday, 9 October. Flight PY431 to Aruba and Curaçao has nevertheless been delayed as a result of the earlier work stoppage.
According to SLM, constructive consultations took place between management, BP-SLM and representatives of the cabin crew. This led to the suspension of the action. The airline provided no further information in the statement about the agreements reached.
The revised departure time of flight PY431 from Paramaribo has been set for 5 p.m. The expected arrival time in Aruba is 6.45 p.m. The aircraft is expected in Curaçao at 8.15 p.m. The communiqué does not confirm whether the flight has since departed.
SLM expressed appreciation for the cabin crew’s efforts and thanked the parties involved for their constructive attitude. The airline again apologised to passengers for the inconvenience and thanked them for their patience and understanding.
