WhatsApp Image 2026 11 02 at 6.18.25 PM The SLM flight PY431 to Aruba and Curaçao will depart at 8 p.m. on Monday after having been cancelled earlier due to technical problems. Passengers are experiencing delays and uncertainty as a result.

The previously cancelled PY431 flight of Surinam Airways (SLM) to Aruba and Curaçao will still operate on the evening of Monday, November 2, 2026. According to the latest information, departure from Paramaribo is scheduled for 8 p.m. The flight was cancelled earlier in the day due to technical problems.

The Surinaamse Luchtvaart Maatschappij had earlier informed passengers that flight PY431, which flies from Paramaribo via Aruba to Curaçao, could not be operated according to the original schedule for technical reasons. The return flight was also affected by the cancellation.

It has now been indicated that the aircraft will depart at 8 p.m. This appears to mean that a solution has been found for the problems that previously led to the cancellation. No further details are yet known about the nature of the technical problems and the measures taken.

Passengers faced uncertainty

The earlier cancellation caused uncertainty among travellers who were due to depart for Aruba and Curaçao on Monday. Initially, it was not known when the flight would still be operated.

In its earlier statement, SLM apologised for the inconvenience caused and said it would inform passengers as soon as possible about adjusted departure and check-in times.

It is not yet known whether the changed departure schedule will also affect the planned return flight from Curaçao to Paramaribo. Travellers are advised to verify the most recent flight information with SLM or their travel agent.
