politie cel 3 A couple has been arrested in Rijsdijk following a report of deception involving a payment of US$4,740 for a Toyota Vitz. The investigation is ongoing.

Rijsdijk police have arrested 53-year-old S.K. and his 39-year-old girlfriend A.J. following a report concerning a total amount of US$4,740. The report was filed by S.K.’s brother.

From the preliminary police investigation, it appears that S.K. allegedly asked his brother to buy a grey Toyota Vitz from A.J. for US$3,600. It was agreed that the purchase price would be paid in monthly instalments of US$150.

According to police, the complainant was subsequently allegedly deceived into handing over several sums of money to the couple.

A.J. stated that she received the full amount of US$3,600. The receipts for the payments were allegedly signed by her. However, after the full amount had been paid, she allegedly refused to hand over the vehicle or the money received to the complainant.

S.K. confirmed to police that he had asked his brother to buy his girlfriend’s vehicle. He further stated that he had borrowed several sums of money from his brother. He said he knew nothing about the payments for the vehicle and referred police to his girlfriend.

S.K. was arrested on Thursday, September 10, 2026. A.J. followed a day later. Rijsdijk police are continuing their investigation into the case.
