A mixed police team found and seized five jerrycans containing suspected aviation fuel in the vicinity of Mozeskreek in the Para district. The Narcotics Brigade is investigating the matter further.
The police took action after receiving information from the community that jerrycans containing suspected aviation fuel had been left at the location.
The intelligence services investigated the information and mapped the area concerned. A mixed police team then proceeded to the indicated location, where the five jerrycans were found.
According to police, no other noteworthy findings were made in the immediate vicinity. It is not yet known who the fuel belonged to, what it was intended for or how long the jerrycans had been there.
The jerrycans were seized. The further investigation has been handed over to the Narcotics Brigade.
