Albina police arrested 48-year-old R.B., known as “Dogla”, on Sunday, August 30, on suspicion of attempted rape and making threats. A 54-year-old woman filed a report against him.

Preliminary police investigations show that the woman was at home that morning with her husband and a nephew. While she was asleep, she suddenly woke up and saw the suspect standing beside her bed. According to her, he was armed with a sharp object.

The man allegedly then tried to sexually assault her. He is also said to have threatened to kill her if she refused to have sex with him.

The woman began screaming out of fear, waking her husband, who was lying in the living room. The suspect then fled through the front door in the direction of Marimbo Park.

After the incident, the victim filed a report at the Albina police station. Shortly afterwards, R.B. also appeared at the station. The woman identified him as the man who allegedly threatened her and tried to sexually assault her.

The suspect was immediately arrested and brought before the authorities. Following consultation with the Public Prosecution Service, he was remanded in custody pending further police investigations.
