images The Public Prosecution Service has asked Interpol to issue an international alert for Ryan Kenneth Torilal because of his involvement in the disappearance of R.L. and serious criminal offences.

The Public Prosecution Service (OM) has asked Interpol to issue an international alert for Ryan Kenneth Torilal through a Red Notice. Torilal is wanted in the criminal investigation into the disappearance of R.L. The request is currently being assessed by Interpol.

The OM announced on Friday that the prosecutor-general had previously ordered the suspect’s tracing and arrest. Following approval of the request, Interpol may proceed with the publication of the Red Notice.

A document seen by Key News and identified as a draft application for the Red Notice shows that it concerns Ryan Kenneth Torilal, born on August 20, 1984, in Paramaribo. The document lists his status as “Wanted” and the purpose as “Arrest”. It also states that he may have travelled to Guyana or Brazil.

Investigation into disappearance

According to the information in the application, the case is related to the disappearance of R.L. According to the summary included in it, the man was last seen on August 15, 2026, at his home in Paramaribo.

Torilal is named as a suspect in the document. The application also contains a request to locate and arrest him with a view to possible extradition proceedings.

The OM reports that Torilal is suspected of, among other offences, participation in a criminal organisation, murder, manslaughter, aggravated assault with premeditation resulting in death, and intentional deprivation of liberty.

A Red Notice is a request to police services worldwide to locate a wanted person and, where national legislation permits, provisionally arrest them pending extradition or another legal procedure. It is not in itself an international arrest warrant.

According to the OM, Suriname’s request is still in the assessment phase at Interpol. The criminal investigation is continuing.
