The administrative service of Marowijne-Zuidwest has renewed the road markings at the intersection of the Kapitein Chris Silosweg and the Weg naar Patamacca. The work is intended to improve road safety and clarity at this location. During the work, zebra crossings and traffic islands, among other things, were remarked. According to the administrative service, well-maintained infrastructure is of great importance, especially at intersections with heavy daily traffic.
Despite limited financial resources, the administrative service says it remains committed to necessary improvements to public infrastructure. Available resources are being deployed as efficiently and responsibly as possible.
District Commissioner Clyde Hunswijk urges road users to be careful and alert, and to comply with applicable traffic and safety regulations. He also asks motorists to take other road users into account.
“A safe and orderly traffic situation is a shared responsibility. By respecting traffic rules, participating in traffic alertly and taking each other into account, we can jointly contribute to a safer and more accessible road network for everyone,” the administrative service said.
