Sixty-year-old Iwan Sholles was shot from a moving car on Wednesday evening on Ojamastraat in Flora. He sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was admitted to hospital.
According to police, the victim was shot with a handgun. After the incident, Sholles was dropped off at the Emergency Department of the Academisch Ziekenhuis Paramaribo.
The identity of the shooter is not yet known. It is also still unclear what prompted the shooting. Police are investigating the case.
