Paranam police have arrested 42-year-old D.D.R. for seriously threatening his ex-wife and their seven children. The man allegedly threatened in voice messages to kill them and then himself.
The woman filed a report with police on August 21. According to her, the suspect threatened to kill her in several voice messages. He allegedly also said he would kill their seven children and then take his own life.
D.D.R. reportedly also went to his ex-wife’s home several times. According to the woman’s statement, he behaved aggressively there and caused a major disturbance.
Preliminary police investigations indicate that the suspect may be struggling to come to terms with the end of the relationship.
Police arrested D.D.R. on Tuesday, September 8. Following consultation with the Openbaar Ministerie (Public Prosecution Service), he was remanded in custody. Paranam police are continuing the investigation.
