Two 21-year-old women were arrested at Santo Dorp police station on Sunday morning after suspected hashish was found among items they had brought for a detainee.
The suspects, B.J.U. and M.O.N., had brought food and toiletries for someone being held in the police station’s cell block.
During the inspection of the items, a police officer found a black plastic bag in a blue roll-on suitcase. According to police, it contained several blocks of a brown, compressed substance. It is suspected to be hashish.
Both women were arrested and, following consultation with the Public Prosecution Service, remanded in custody. The investigation is continuing.
